There are several ways to reach us:

From Cairns via Gillies Highway (Highway 52) - Approx 1 hour
Travel South on the Bruce Highway towards Townsville and turn West at Gordonvale onto Gillies Highway. You will notice the temperature drops, and the air becomes fresher as you climb up the range to reach an altitude of 720 metres (2,500 feet) - a welcome break from the humid coastal heat. When you reach the top of the range, the rolling green hills of the Atherton Tablelands stretch out before you. Travel into Yungaburra, turn right at the Yungaburra State School and follow our signs to Lakeside.

From Cairns via Kennedy Highway (Highway 1) - Approx 1.5 hrs
Travel North on the Captain Cook Highway to Smithfield. Turn West on the Kuranda Range Road and experience the tropical Rainforest as you drive past Kuranda. Travel to Mareeba through the drier Eucalypt forests turning left (South) through to Atherton, and onto Yungaburra. Drive through Yungaburra and on the outskirts of the village, turn left at Yungaburra State School and follow our signs to Lakeside.

From Innisfail up the Palmerston Highway - Approx 1.5 hours
Travel through the picturesque World Heritage listed rainforest, passing many spectacular lookouts to Malanda. Turn right at Malanda onto the Malanda / Lake Eacham Road. At the end of the road turn left onto Gillies Highway and travel into Yungaburra. Turn right at the Yungaburra State School and follow our signs to Lakeside.

From Port Douglas up the Rex Range Road - Aprox 2 hours
Just South of Mossman, and 12 km north of Port Douglas is the Rex Range turn off which takes you through the Mossman sugar cane hinterland before climbing the Rex Range to Julatten and Mt Molloy. Drive onto Mareeba, Atherton and to Yungaburra. Drive through Yungaburra and on the outskirts of the village, turn left at Yungaburra State School and follow our signs to Lakeside.

Yungaburra Heritage Village

The picturesque village of Yungaburra lies in the heart of the Atherton Tablelands, just one hour up from Cairns into the Highlands, in Tropical North Queensland.

Largely unchanged since 1910, wide verandahs and historical shopfronts line the tranquil streets. With 18 heritage listed buildings, it is the largest National Trust village in Queensland.

Yungaburra Heritage Village

Yungaburra sits 720m above sea level with 'natural air-conditioning' and the lower humidity and temperatures makes Yungaburra a great escape from the humid coast during summer.

In winter the cool but mild climate and the crackling log fires make this an ideal mountain retreat, while springtime is a lovely time of the year for bird watchers and wildlife lovers.
